One Blind Mouse is a shining light in the experimental world, he makes minimalism look busy while composing idiosyncratic, genre confused 'music', often fuelled by objectionable human behaviour!
Soliciting Chapter VI is a themed collection in which the tunes both borrow and lend musical strategies from the tracks immediately prior to and following them, where appropriate.
Timing is not considered important to the pieces (although some are relatively 'typical’) and both time signatures and key may be arbitrary, even within a single tune.
It is experimental. It is however, music.
Soliciting Chapter VI
The authorship of religious texts relating to the presence of ‘higher’ beings on the earth around the time of the great flood is questioned.
This is One Blind Mouse's interpretation of a process in which such a thing could even happen… the involvement of ‘any’ extra terrestrial entity not withstanding... more science fiction than religion and the concept of a 'higher being' should be associated with disfigurement.
Primary instruments include a cheap Chinese Stratocaster copy, a Moog Matriarch, Revox A77 2-track tape recorder, a Pignose PGG-20, some more conventional VSTi, and other instruments and noises.
Followers of the label might recognise One Blind Mouse's name from his mastering work on Gozer Goodspeed's Ghosts album, and as a co-composer and engineer on the Awen Veleda debut EP. One Blind Mouse continues to work behind the scenes at the label tinkering with some of our artists work to help make it shine. Have a listen to his interpretation of Gozer's song Gambler's Last Day as part of our Gozer's Ghosts competition below.
