Hey friends,
I mentioned last week that to celebrate the release of Fractured, Beth Sarah has recorded a series of acoustic versions of tracks from the album, and they’re honestly stunning. These stripped-back takes let the songwriting shine through in a totally different light, capturing the raw energy and emotion of the songs.
Each week before the album is fully released we’re releasing one of these tracks on YouTube. PLUS we’ll be releasing them all on Bandcamp as a mini-EP to accompany Fractured.
Here's what Beth had to say about these unique recordings:
When I wrote Fractured, it was as much a production experiment as it was a songwriting journey. Some tracks started with guitar or piano, but others were built from layers of samples and synth lines – definitely not all songs I could just sit down and play in the traditional sense.
Then Mike from Lights and Lines had a brilliant (and slightly terrifying) idea: "Why not make an acoustic version of each track?"
I was enthusiastic... until I realised what a mammoth task that actually was! 😅 But – silver lining – it forced me to rethink the songs, and now I can perform every single one live on either piano or guitar. Which feels like a huge win!
Don't forget you can pre-order Fractured on Bandcamp today!
Thanks as always for being here and supporting independent music. You help make all of this possible...
